I'd love to see 2 things added to the documentation.
First, a mention as to when to use a memory mapped file, especially compared to just loading a file in memory, changing it and finally writing it back. (Yes, of course if the file is big. But any other considerations, pro/con.)
Second, a short example of a typical use wouldn't hurt.
