The GlobalDirectory is a central storage place for all wikis on a ProWiki server.
It contains:
* ServerConfigFile -- options affecting all wikis, especially the directory layout, options related to the ProWikiServer
* GlobalConfigFile -- options affecting all wikis, options related to the wikis
* InterWebFile -- InterWeb and InterWiki definitions that work for all wikis
* UserDirectory -- the place for user registration data and user data
* SisterDirectory -- a central repository for information about pages in other wikis
* SlurpDirectory -- a central directory to monitor access rates of qualified IPs, blocking those that go beyond a certain limit (typically 100 requests in 5 minutes, see SlurpBlocking)
* DictionaryFiles -- shared word lists used for SpellChecking
=== Special configuration considerations ===
Currently all known ProWikiServers use a single GlobalDirectory. But this is not necessary. If the wikis use different ServerConfigFiles (typically they use soft links to a central ServerConfigFile ensuring that) then there can be more than one GlobalDirectory. This could be used to configure completely separate user registration systems and separated systems of wikis.
