A Wiki may have private and public branches. You can configure this in the BranchContextPage.
Options for a private branch:
* status.for.edit=Admin
* status.for.read=Admin
Options for a public branch:
* status.for.edit=Visitor
* status.for.read=Visitor
Options for a branch that can be read by the public, but only edited by people you register as authors:
* status.for.edit=Author
* status.for.read=Visitor
