The use of wiki for university courses is one of the oldest wiki applications. In 1997 Mark Guzdial from Georgia Tech began to adapt the wiki idea using the name "CoWeb". It has been used for hundreds of courses and Mark Guzdial published a number of scientific papers about their positive experiences.
