Underline Linking

Difference (previous author) (Change, Edit, normal page display)

Changed: 1c1,20
Describe the new page here.
UnderlineLinking is a form of AutomaticLinking and an alternative to CamelCase. It means that any word containing underlines will link automatically.

Configuration option involved:
* UnderlineAutoLink

Typical use:
* for languages without western uppercase and lowercase
* for EncyclopediaWikis and DictionaryWikis that still want to have AutomaticLinking
* for CreativeWriting with story-describing page names

Note: Mixing UnderLineLinking with CameCase may cause confusion because then there twice as many ways to form automatic linking page names using the same words.

Origin: As far as I know UnderlineLinking was first implemented by LizzyWiki and reported at WikiSym2005 by Alain Desilets. It was used for some projects, e. g. AlliedSchoolsGraz, and it was found useful and intuitive. -- HelmutLeitner
